Fantastic experience: Over the course of two months of treatment, Merrill Pappin was able to fully correct a major back/hip problem that had been persisting for about a year or more. After the original assessment, she developed a comprehensive plan over 6-8 weeks for how to rehab the muscles and reduce pain, improve strength, and increase mobility. She was incredible to deal with: had a great plan, was flexible (would develop alternative exercises based on my comfort and ability), engaging, and worked hard to solve the problem. 10/10 recommend her and the Ottawa Physiotherapy and Sport Clinics!

I have lower back issues that others have had a really hard time treating. Dimitri has taken the time to find out what truly works for me. Fantastic experience: Been going to Dimitri for my TMJ pain and also my neck & shoulder stiffness. He’s really good at getting to the root of the problem and changing treatment strategy based on how your symptoms change. Highly recommend for someone dealing with TMJ issues.

Fantastic experience: I am so glad I gave Barrhaven physio a try. I have been seeing Dimitri and he has been absolutely wonderful. He was very empathetic from the start. He recognized the pain I was in and came up with a couple of options to try. He explains everything as he goes and makes sure you are comfortable. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He also has a sense of humor which really helps when you are going through something challenging. I am so happy to see improvements in my recovery with his encouragement and help along the way. Fantastic experience: I had an injury on my foot from I don’t know what, and after seeing many reviews came to Barrhaven Physiotherapy & Sport clinic. Parth was my therapist and he was fantastic! Thorough in his exams, and in his muscle release. He explained how all the different muscles in the leg work together and how my imbalance was causing the pain in my foot. He gave me many different exercises over the course of several weeks, as well as excellent care including some acupuncture- which I had never tried before but which amazingly helped much more than I ever expected. The entire clinic is an open and welcoming environment and you just feel the positivity from all the staff. I always left smiling. I know the first place I’ll be going next time I have any issues! Fantastic experience: My former physio moved to the states for work and I was in denial about if he was ever coming back. Then I got injured playing soccer and needed some help. I was referred to a physio out of the Barrhaven clinic and it’s been such a wonderful experience. He is so personable and intelligent, we’ve worked through several injuries since I started with him. I am purposely not using his name as I don’t want him to get too booked up . The entire staff at the Barrhaven clinic are wonderful, welcoming and I am so happy I found them!

Fantastic experience: I had a very positive experience with physio here especially with Alexa as my physiotherapist. I had been told by my doctor that I may not be able to sort out my injury in my hand just with physio, but Alexa was very competent and assured me from the beginning that we would get results and we did. She was incredibly friendly and made me feel at ease at every appointment. I fully recommend this place as every staff member is very friendly and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in.

Fantastic experience: I am a client at the Barrhaven Clinic since mid-October with Parth Desai as my physiotherapist. I am recovering from a fracture at the left elbow, with swelling and ossification spurs. My treatment session with Parth have been excellent. Originally my left arm could not lay flat nor straight, and I had limited range of mobility and strength in the left elbow/arm. As of mid-December, my recovery is nearly complete and I’m able to use the left arm/elbow as before my accident. If you require physiotherapy, I recommend that you consider registering with Parth Desai, at the Barrhaven clinic of the Ottawa Physiotherapists and Sports Clinics. Frank Fedyk

Nick is very knowledgeable, takes the time to answer any questions and my progress on his plan has been life changing, I wish I had found this clinic sooner.

Fantastic experience: Went there for a sprang ankle. It was my first time being injured. Alexa was really friendly and easy to talk to. Her treatment plan and exercise were easy to follow especially for someone who rarely exercise. Overall i had a great experience. All the staff their were really nice.

Positive experience: I visited this location for a shoulder issue I have had for more than a year and about a knee issue. I had around 5-6 sessions with Alexa Beehler (shoulder issue) and 2 sessions with Parth (kneee issue). The physios here seem very knowledgeable and friendly. My shoulder issue didn't improve and actually deteriorated a bit and I had to change the location after which it improved significantly. There was good progress on my knee. Here are a few issues I noticed at this center: 1. They conduct parallel sessions with multiple patients. The physios work with at least two patients at any given time. Sometimes 3. As a result the physio don't really understand your situation and repeat the same questions in each session. 2. The session often lasts for 20-30 minutes and the billing is done for 45 minutes. 3. I didn't fully grasp how the sessions are booked. They recommend booking a couple sessions in the same week although my shoulder issue was a chronic one and I wasn't looking for an immediate solution. Further the exercises recommend were rather simple and can't be expected to change anything in just 3 days. I feel like there is a conflict of interest here.

Fantastic experience: I had such a positive experience at Barrhaven Physiotherapy Clinic, specifically with Alexa! I had never been to Physio before and she took care of my back with such care, encouragement, positivity and professionalism! She gave me progressive exercises and over the course of 2 months and I am completely back to where I was before! I highly recommend them but you have to do the work to find success!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient at Barrhaven/Ottawa Physiotherapy Clinic on and off for the past few years for a variety of injuries and issues. My initial left hip concerns were successfully resolved through the coordinated efforts of Matt and Olivia. Matt later referred me to Merrill for pelvic physiotherapy, which was partially related to my hip, but primarily aimed at addressing prolapse symptoms. Pelvic physiotherapy involves internal treatment of the pelvic muscles, which can understandably be uncomfortable both physically and mentally. Merrill always made me feel completely at ease throughout the process. Thanks to her expertise and the pelvic floor exercises she taught me (which I still do daily), I can now enjoy a full round of golf without planning restroom stops in advance. Merrill saved my golf season once again by helping me recover from an arm and shoulder injury, along with right-sided back and hip issues. She developed a gradual, personalized exercise program that minimized disruption to my play and ultimately led to pain-free movement. Before discharging me from care, Merrill took the time to create a long-term maintenance program to help keep me injury-free moving forward. I’m incredibly grateful for the thoughtful, professional, and effective care I’ve received from the whole team — especially Merrill.

Fantastic experience: My 13yrs ild athlete struggled with knee pain for over a year, it started with an injury in which she saw two physio therapists for but not concrete plans that actually brought consistent improvements, then a friend of mine recommended Nick, that assessment appointment with Nick changed the game for us! His assessment was logical and easy to understand, he seems to be very well informed well up to date with all the news studies and researches, his physio plan has already brought many improvements to my kid’s routine, he educated her and explained the importance and impact of simple practices and how that will affect the issue she has been struggling with. We haven’t fixed the problem completely but I would recommend Nick hand down to anybody struggling with a tricky situation. Also the team is friendly, and easy to talk to, welcoming and professional. Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to see Dimitri for over a year and a half. Physiological issues with my feet/ankle have caused extensive tightness and pain for years, but Dimitri was able to identify that the tight muscles might be aided and released by dry needling in addition to exercises to work on my range of motion. This combination has been life-changing for me, has drastically reduced my pain when walking/running/exercising generally. He’s also been instrumental in helping me address problems in my shoulder and hip, especially to keep me healthy and mobile for my fastpitch softball league. The facility is always cleanly, all therapists are super knowledgeable and friendly, and front desk staff are equally friendly and helpful. They are fantastic!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had the pleasure of being able to work with Kevin and Dimitri (While Kevin was on holidays), and they are both so kind and friendly and make you feel right at home! I was anxious at the beginning meeting them, but I have to say I look forward to going to physio because there’s always a lot of laughter (literally every patient is always laughing and happy). We believe I slipped my L5 disk on my lower back and I was in the hospital twice. I’ve had back pain reoccurrences from an injury doing deadlifts a few years ago. This pain in early December was the worst back pain I’ve experienced yet. I also had sciatica all the way down my right leg as well and once a 15 minute hip spasm. With the exercises, heat, and micro needling it’s been 2 months now and I’m off all pain & nerves meds and about 90% better . I went twice a week for the first month or so, and then once a week after that. I 100% recommend Kevin or Dimitri to everyone.

You truly are simply the best at what you do. The constant retraining and supporting each other doesn't hurt either. Physio, Massage and Osteo....along with several other options at my clinic means you cannot go wrong if you are in need of repair or long term maintenance support. They have you covered for pretty much all your needs. Let's not forget the front staff. Without their support, the office not function.

Fantastic experience: I have experienced pain and flexibility issues with my neck, hips, and right shoulder, for at least the last 10 years. After Alexa, at OPTSC Barrhaven, successfully treated my wife after her knee replacement, I decided to go see her for my aches and pains too. In my humble opinion, Alexa is a very knowledgeable physiotherapist. She is also a very caring and warm person. I’m still being treated by Alexa for my issues as stated above, however I already experience less chronic pain from my hips. My neck now allows my head to move up and down, as well as right and left a lot more freely. I previously had physiotherapy for a frozen shoulder. Alexa has finally done what wasn’t done by my previous physiotherapist and I’m now able to better use my right arm and shoulder. I can now finally throw a football with my grandsons. I highly recommend Alexa at OPTSC Barrhaven. Once again, Alexa at OPTSC has fixed me up after a fall on ice while cleaning up the snowfall on Christmas eve. I was in agony from then till today Friday the 27th. I was barely able to walk till Alexa treated me today. She knows what she is doing with my body, and right after leaving the clinic I was able to walk and even bend over all pain free once again. Thank you Alexa for your treatment today. I won't need to take any pain medication to sleep tonight.

Fantastic experience: I saw Alexa post ankle surgery from a hockey injury. I had been in a cast for 2+ months and at that time had lost a lot of mobility/ strength and was fearful of re-injuring myself. Thinking of returning to sport seemed so far out of reach at that time. As soon as I met Alexa she had me take my first few non cast steps and I realized maybe I could get back to running and playing hockey (the sports I love) with her help. Each session she helped me regain mobility and strength, informed me how I need to train and how not to as well! I am now back to playing regular hockey and running just slightly over a year post ankle ORIF and am so grateful to have had Alexa help me.

He doesn’t just make an assessment and give me a paper that lists my exercises. Matthew provides hands on treatment but also very thoroughly explains what’s going on and details how the treatment and the exercises will correct my issues. I’ve been treated by a number of therapists over the years; Matthew is the only one who offers heat therapy after my treatment. I leave feeling great. I highly recommend Matthew C. The rest of the staff I’ve observed are professional and friendly. I also appreciate the reception staff are welcoming and efficient.

Fantastic experience: Back in January of this year I was in so much pain I could barely walk. I initially began seeing Alexa for a lower back pain I had been experiencing on and off for about 6 months. The way Alexa was detailed in her questions really showed me that she cared about the actual problem not just doing some bandaid fixes just to get me off the table. Alexa truly took her time and started to slowly help with the back pain. I only saw her for 4-5 months for this issue before we had fixed the pain. Not even a month later I had to email her about a knee pain issue. Immediately she got back to me and booked me in her schedule! Less than a month later she had me feeling well enough to run a 5km race that only she truly believed in me to run. Without her confidence in my ability to recover properly I would have opted out of the race and missed out on an experience of a life time. The week after that race I “graduated” from physio for my second issue. I couldn’t praise and recommend her enough! I’m sad that we don’t get our weekly catch up during our session!

Fantastic experience: Having had a few visits now, I felt it was appropriate to add comment. I have been suffering and "living in fear" of my back injury rearing it's head at unexpected times causing me some real serious problems for over 15 years. I'm on week 3 of my treatment plan. I feel almost as I did when I first recovered from my first back injury 15 years ago. Matt and the team are excellent. Their environment is immaculate, pleasant and very welcoming. I could go on at length about my positive opinion of this team, however one only has so much room. If you are ready to take control of those old ouchies and feel young and strong again, please do yourself the favor and visit.

Fantastic experience: My first time doing physio and Barrhaven Physiotherapy, was recommended by my wife, she had been there a few years ago. She said Nick (Antaya) is the guy to see and he will get you back in shape. How true. Nick is friendly, easy going and quite experienced. From first visit, he had me in stitches (laughter), he goes over my condition, explain causes, educated me and what to expect from my back pain sessions. I was at ease and the exercises he gave were easy, sometimes hard for my old (over 50+) body, but I perservered and did everything. I feel much better now and will continue to do the program. Fantastic experience: As my wife and I continue to participate in organized sports and other athletic activities well into our sixties, injuries are inevitable as the body is no longer as resilient. Recovery times are also longer.... and that is where the Barrhaven Physiotherapy Clinic (BPC) comes in. Over the years due to booking conflicts I have had occasion to try other clinics, including highly recommended locations but none meet the same level of quality service and expertise I've enjoyed at BPC. You'll find clinics that have more chrome and fancy décor, but my priority is expertise and quick recovery. No one has pinpointed our issues and had us return to our active lifestyle quicker than Barrhaven Physiotherapy. You'll notice I have selfishly avoided naming my primary Physiotherapist, nor that of the young lady that treats my wife, but all staff is under the watchful eye and mentorship of their highly competent Manager (Nick)...... ooops! Without hesitation, I will continue to confidently place my health in the sure hands of the BPC therapists as I now migrate from soccer to pickleball, moving actively into my seventies!
