Fantastic experience: Excellent! I had so much pain in my ribs, back and shoulders for months after a fall. Visited chiropractor, acupuncturist, physiotherapist, RMT and nothing worked . I did not know what to expect and in just 3 sessions pain was gone. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with Akram. I came in with pain, but I left in significantly worse pain after the treatment. The following day, I developed bruising over the areas that Akram had worked on, which was very concerning since I had never experienced anything like this in the past. I returned to the office to politely ask about what had happened and whether this was a normal reaction. Unfortunately, instead of addressing my concerns professionally, Akram became defensive and angry. That interaction was far more upsetting than the treatment itself. This was unlike any experience I have had with another healthcare provider. Based on my experience, I felt that my concerns were dismissed rather than addressed with care and professionalism. I would encourage others to consider this when deciding where to seek care!!

Fantastic experience: I did a google search for Osteopath in my area and Dr. Akram's office showed up. I didn't know anything about her but decided to give her a try. Best decision of my life! I suffer from Scoliosis and chronic back pain. I have started my treatment with her and i can feel more long term relief. I have tried acupuncture and chiropractor and they all only provide short relief. Her methods are great and even though it was painful at times it is because my body is out of place and too tight. I highly recommend her if you need a more personal approach to your specific condition instead of others that do a generic treatment.

Fantastic experience: I've just visited Akram for the first time and received what was arguably one of the more effective treatments I've ever experienced even compared to RMT etc. I've been to many other practitioners over the years for my full-body persistent tension and tightness, but none have been able to get to the source of the problems and provide noticeable relief as Akram was able to. She narrowed in on many different areas of pain I have in various areas and constantly checked in with me as she worked on them as she provided quite a deep massage. She has an extensive range of knowledge which shows in her treatments and how effective she was in providing me relief in just the first session. I'll be booking another appointment with her soon.

Fantastic experience: In just two sessions, Dr. Akram helped me a lot with my jaw pain due to bruxism, and it is basically fixed. After the first session, I felt my jaw normal again and the grind got so much better. She manages the pain targeting the tension and pain points but it totally worth it!

She has a great sense for finding tension I didn’t even know I was carrying—firm where I need it, thoughtful about neck, shoulders, and legs. She is always clear about what they’re doing. The space is calm, intake is quick but thorough, and I leave feeling looser and sleeping better. Worth every minute.

Negative experience: I originally gave 5 stars because the therapy itself was good. I did feel relief after the session. However, I have since lowered my review because of concerns with professional conduct. The invoice I received clearly listed her as DO (MP). When I asked about it, I received inconsistent explanations — first being told “my DO information is the same as before,” then later that “maybe somebody changed your invoice,” and finally that Canada Life doesn’t cover her school. I can see where confusion may happen with credential wording, but an official invoice is not the place for “confusion.” Accuracy and honesty matter, especially when patients are relying on information for insurance coverage. The therapy itself was fine, but the way this was handled left me without trust.

Fantastic experience: Bit of context first - I've been dealing with back issues for over 4 years, mostly due to a curve in my spine and a bad case of "gamers back". Chiro and massage helped keep the worst at bay but didn't truly fix it. I tried kinesiology and physiotherapy, but they weren't the right types of treatment for what I needed. I had never heard of osteopathy before so wasn't sure what to expect. Akram took the time to truly listen and learn, wanting to understand what was going on in my body as a whole. Then she worked to pinpoint the problem areas that were causing the issues. She looked at how everything connected, and worked on areas that, although didn't "hurt" themselves, ended up being the reason everything else was off. I felt leagues better just after my first session, and each time it gets better. I know it's still going to be a long time and a lot of work to truly be out of pain, but that's the nature of the physical issue. I'm confident Akram will continue to help me live pain free, and I'm very grateful.

Negative experience: Her treatment room is a tiny room in the back of a pharmacy. Doesn't take credit cards but doesn't tell you until after your treatment is done and claims it's on the website (I don't see it anywhere). She's REALLY ROUGH. If someone is coming to you for treatment on their body, don't twist and contort them with so much force and speed! I've had a lot of treatments and no one has ever handled me so roughly. It took me 3 days to recover from the pain caused during my first session, which was 50 mins assessment and 10 mins treatment. By the time it was over, I thought I had received treatment from someone who isn't even a legitimate osteopath and felt concerned my benefit plan would reimburse me.

Fantastic experience: I go here for my migraines, and it has done wonders. I used to get them every second day and now i have gone a full week without one. Would defiantly recommend going here.

I wish I could go see her every week for the whole year. after suffering soft tissue damage in a car accident, she has made my pain so much more bearable. In january, I went to her because I couldn't even lift my arm past my head. in two visits, my mobility was back and it continues to improve. she has worked on my back, neck, shoulders, jaw, head to relieve pain and discomfort. I can't say enough about how well her treatments helped me to improve and be more mobile. she comes highly recommended. Don't live with pain and stiffness; there are treatments out there that help and osteopathic treatments with Akram have certainly helped me!!! thank you Akram.

Fantastic experience: Pain relief is a wonderful thing. Akram was recommended by a friend, who had been suffering from significant pain in her back. Akram helped her in just a few treatments. I have been dealing with the pain of avascular necrosis of the humoral head in both my shoulders for over 7 years now, due, mostly to excessive doses of prednisone during my bout of heart failure. This pain has kept me from being able to raise my hands above shoulder level for a few years now, and has interfered with regular things like putting plates in the cupboard, and even driving my car. Akram started treating my pain, after me visiting physiotherapists, massage therapists, orthopedic surgeons and chiropractors, none of which offered any form of relief, and some of which actually made the problem worse. After only a few treatments, my mobility has increased significantly, and my pain had reduce very substantially. Don’t get me wrong, Akram is the pain detective. She knows where to find it, and her treatments are not without a significant investment in the pain you have experienced before. But that price is worth paying. I have less pain (significantly less pain) than I have had in many years. I have mobility that I haven’t experienced in years. I highly recommend Akram’s expertise for relief of pain and recovery of mobility. Thanks Akram!
