Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing Dr. Jay and Dr. Sam for over a couple of weeks now and I have nothing but positive words to say about both of them! They’re great with what they do and have relieved me from my pain. They’re the best in YYC!!!

Fantastic experience: Being an athlete, im no stranger to injuries. The process can be both physically and mentally draining, after injuring my knee I went to Shephard health for treatment and i have to say, Working with Dr. Jay and Dr. Sam made the recovery process smooth, supportive, and successful from start to finish. From the first appointment, the staff was welcoming, professional, and genuinely caring. They took the time to thoroughly assess my knee, clearly explain what was going on, and create a personalized treatment plan that made me feel confident and informed every step of the way. The care and expertise I received were outstanding. Thanks to their guidance and hands-on treatment, my knee feels stronger than it was before. I’m back to moving comfortably and doing the activities I love without pain.

Negative experience: I received shockwave therapy at Dr. Shephard’s clinic and was disappointed with how it was handled. The treatment was not performed by him, and supervision appeared minimal. The only direction given to the staff member administering the treatment was the voltage setting. There was no clear guidance regarding anatomical placement, tissue targeting, or structures to avoid. Prior to this treatment, I had only mild inflammation in my knee and no fluid accumulation. During the session, I experienced significant lateral knee pain, feeling as if my bone was being hit with a jackhammer. Following the shockwave session, I developed significant swelling and severe fluid accumulation, and was later diagnosed with severe synovitis. Since then, I have required five knee aspirations, multiple injections, and an MRI. The fluid has continued to accumulate despite these interventions, and I am now being told I will require a total knee replacement. This has been ongoing since July 2025. Clear communication about who is performing a treatment, how it is being supervised, and ensuring proper clinical oversight is essential. In my experience, that standard was not met.

Fantastic experience: A quick shout out to my place of healing. I am getting older and my body seems to be leading the charge. From shoulder pain, typical for men, foot pain - my job makes me walk up to 25 km a day to the general affect on your body from your previous youthful bright ideas. This is not your typical chiropractic office in that they have leading edge technology from ART - active release - oh it hurts but it heals, to laser, to shock therapy. Completely safe btw. I have found the Dr. Just call me Jay listens to what is ailing me and fixes the problem. This is a legacy healing clinic as Shephard health has been around long enough for Dr. Jay to bring in his son Dr. just call me Sam. The clinic staff are all very efficient and caring. Katie and Julia at the front are always quick with a good morning when I come in. Izzy and Justine are friendly and knowledgable. Feel like Im leaving someone out... For the record, I previously was very skeptical due to experiences with other chiro experiences elsewhere. Now there is no apprehension or delay. If Im in pain I call Jay at Shephard Health. The clinic is in Kensington and I must say the building is always with gleaming floors in the lobby. Street parking a plenty underground and across the street. I use the street parking and for my appointment I usually spend about $1.75 for my appointment time. I hope you are living well Jay as you need to stick around until your 90 to take care us broken down 80s rock stars.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Shephard's team are efficient and patient driven. They offer great treatment techniques and a variety of appointment times. They're accommodating and helpful when it comes to scheduling and they direct-bill your insurance. Dr. Shephard helped me with a minor ankle injury and I was back on my feet in no time! Positive experience: Great staff, and awesome Dr. I would have love to give 5star known how great they made me feel. You lost a star do to not properly putting on the decompression machine (stretcher) but willing to still charge me, but not fix it. Over I’d recommend this place till all my friends and family!!

I thank God for him and his whole team, they are a blessing in my life. I went in for a frozen shoulder, but I’ve received some relief with hip and neck pain as well, and the ultrasound Dr.Shephard ordered helped me to uncover that I have tendonitis in my elbow. Fantastic experience: I went to Dr Shepard because of an injury I suffered at work repositioning a resident. It was my right arm and shoulder. Fantastic experience: My husband is 77 and I am 75. We had both done significant damage to our shoulders and arms and lost a lot of range of motion in them. It was both painful and crippling for both of us. At times we were not able to dress ourselves without the others help. And very frustrating for me, I was not even able to grab the seat belt properly, plus many other things that we took for granted. I brought my husband in as he injured his back and he has scoliosis so we were both nervous. Doctor Shepard was gentle, patient and thorough and helped him feel better. I explained my problems and he told me to come by the office that day when I had time and he would see me, no questions. I did, and I was seen and it was amazing. Fantastic experience: This is a great physio office. The staff are all friendly and very pleasant to deal with. I came in with issues relating to muscle pain in my leg that was sports related. It turned out it was a muscle tear and Dr. Shepherd worked with me to get it feeling good again and I was soon back playing sports. He’s the best!

Lots of street side parking free of charge for early morning appts before 9am, small fee to pay during the day plus a few paid parking parking lots nearby. Bus stop within 1 block but also just a quick 8 minute walk from the c-train station. Insurance claims and credit card payments are hassle free. Prices are very reasonable. Doubt you can find the same experience and dedication to the profession anywhere else. You'll see others feel the same from all the accolades that line their walls. I highly recommended Shepard Health if you're feeling alittle rusty and just considering a massage or a few basic adjustments but don't hesitate to book an appt if you've injured yourself and need a little pro therapy to get your body back to action. Fantastic experience: Dr Jay has been absolutely fantastic in resolving my back issues and later on my recovery from a fractured fibula. I’ve used him successfully in the past for a heal spur and plantar fasciitis. He knows his stuff and his staff are friendly and competent. I would recommend Jay to anyone!

Fantastic experience: The only downside to visiting Dr. Sheppard is that you'll need to figure out how to break up with your current Chiropractor! If you're someone who understands the true value behind effective Chiropractic adjustments, then you'll want to read below; I have used Chiro for over 25 years, the last 10 of which have been with the same Chiropractor, who I adore. That said, after spending some time at Sheppard Health ( my Physiotherapist works out of Sheppard ) it became clear very quickly that Dr. Sheppard was on an entirely different level, especially when it comes to athletes. To my surprise, the treatment was even more direct, effective, and tailored to my needs, in the moment, than I could have expected. To put it bluntly, Dr. Sheppard REARRANGED me, in a way I've NEEDED and have been looking for, since my accident two years ago. I don't think it would be a stretch to suggest his treatment was more effective than the totality of the previous 2 years of work with my other Chiro. The relief from the treatment has only been bested by the soreness from all of the movement he initiated on my hips/ back/hip flexors, a pain I'll take any day over the soreness, lack of mobility, and tight muscles present otherwise.

Fantastic experience: I am beyond grateful for the treatments Jay has done for me. The pain i was experiencing in my leg was unbearable, running is my passion ( more so my life) and after 2 weeks of treatment my leg is feeling 90 percent better i can feel myself running again in a week

Fantastic experience: I used to go to a different therapist for 6 months and no improvements. Came here for the same Low Back Pain problem and after three treatments, daily pain is now gone. Fantastic experience: I’ve been having on/off back and shoulder pain for awhile now. A few weeks ago my back flared up to the point where I was unable to walk or even sleep. With nothing else helping I decided to try some chiropractic work. After one appointment with Dr. Jay my pain was reduced substantially and I could finally get a good night sleep. Fantastic experience: INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! One session and I'll be a client of Dr.Shepherds for life. I was searching for a YYC based clinic with a cold laser machine. Googled and Dr. Shepherd's clinic came up and was close to where I was staying (grew up in YYC, now in BC). I was amazed when Dr Shepherd emailed me personally from his iPhone and answered my questions. He saw us on a Stat holiday so he welcomed us at the building door and took us up. With his staff off, we were the only ones there until his next appointment. His bedside manner was awesome. He is truly a chill, kind, EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGABLE human being with a passionate for helping people heal. He is open, interested in your life and healing journey and has an excellent clinic. He wrote the book on some of his healing modalities and has invested in lots of technology to support his nature aptitude for healing. I love quantum technologies like rife machines and cold laser. He was generous and hooked me up to all of them which really broke up some scar tissue issues in my forearms. He gave me hope for returning one day to an activity my health challenges prevent me from doing fully. He is qualified: the entire office and every room is covered with signed athletes, Olympians, NHL players, pro dancers, wrestlers and bands who he has helped. He even toured with KISS during their first reunion tour to keep the band, roadies and management in alignment. Good stories. I also appreciated him sharing about his life and experiences which built trust. He and I imagine his team are 10/10. I'll always be going back for support when im in yyc and he is the kind of human you'd go visit just to say hi once you are fully healthy. Best of the best. Fantastic experience: Jay’s been my chiro for 10+years. He’s the best there is. No matter how badly I’m twisted up he works with me to sort it out and get me feeling well. I couldn’t recommend him more. Trust is an important part of working with a chiro, and you can trust this guy. I even had him adjust my newborn baby who was suffering from colic. After the first visit she had the hardest sleep of her life!

Fantastic experience: Dr Shepard takes the time to evaluate injuries and needs and, if necessary, recommends protocols to ensure his treatment plans are on point and safe (eg if necessary, he will recommend imaging before attempting treatment). He uses a number of modalities to compliment his chiropractic treatments. It is clear he really cares about achieving a positive outcome.

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency issue that came up where a cough caused a hospital visit due to excruciating pain on my upper right ribs. Could barely move, breathing was also short and after a 10 hour hospital visit the recommendation from the doctor was to see a chiropractor with rib speciality that can do re-alignment. I searched on google, and found one Chiropractor that checked all the boxes. The website was easy to use, I submitted the form (with detail of my situation) and within minutes dr Shephard phoned me and booked me in immediately to get checked out straight from hospital. Dr Shephard could tell I was in immense pain (my one hand holding my rib), and re-assured me that this will get better and relief is coming. The first session consisted of ART and Low level Laser Therapy. I could already tell that things where loosening up in the area causing pain. The next morning I had much more mobility and less pain. Have since had two additional sessions and already my mobility is almost 100%, I still have pain with coughing, sneezing or laughing (as he put it no visiting comedy clubs haha) and even that is getting better after each session. I highly recommend Dr Shephard, not only is his personality, professionalism and character exceptional, he and his team are amazing and miracle workers :p. Also have to give a shout out to receptionist as they are very pleasant when greeting, booking appointments etc. I am on a path to recovery and thankful for them helping me get over this difficult experience with health.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jay knows his stuff very well. He was the only health professional who could fix my shin injury. He always goes out of his way to make sure I (and all the other patients I saw) got the most effective and personalized treatment possible. I could also tell that he was genuinely interested in getting to know me personally; in just a few treatments, it felt like we were old pals. For anything related to health, wellness, or performance, Dr. Jay is your guy.

Negative experience: If you value your health, don't go here. Read the reviews, he is a terrible doctor who still hasn't learned to be humble enough to listen when he is doing something wrong. I honestly don't know how he hasn't been sued for malpractice. I don't know why he's even allowed to practice. Months of visits for a shoulder/back injury and all he did was take my money and crack my neck and lower back. I was in intense amounts of pain for a long time until I saw someone who cared enough to do their job properly. I wish there was a zero star option tbh. Honestly just don't bother with him.

Fantastic experience: Went in as an emergency when I hurt my back and as a busy mom I couldn't function. They were so unbelievably kind and accommodating. I felt immediate relief with the treatment and will be back to get myself back on track with my busy life. Dr Jay was so thoughtful and considerate even though I had to bring my young daughter with me. I couldn't have asked for anything more!

Fantastic experience: While traveling to Calgary I experienced severe back pain. Dr. Shepherd was recommend by a close friend and even though I didn’t have an appointment he was able to take from his busy schedule to see me. I was very nervous as I had never been to a chiropractor before. Dr. Shepherd walked me through his diagnoses and recommended treatment; he answered all my questions and concerns and put my mind at ease before treating me. If I were a local resident of Calgary I would go back to Dr. Shepherd’s clinic on a regular basis - highly recommend Jay for treatment!!!

Fantastic experience: I have suffered with life long debilitating low back pain. I have tried everybody but no success. All this changed when I was referred to Dr. Jay at Shephard Health. The new and innovative treatments that they do, that no one else seems to do, changed everything for me. I have no more pain. They are so accommodating with my crazy travel schedule. The staff are always so kind and helpful to me. I have been seeing Dr. Jay on and off for years. It is fun to see Dr. Jay and his staff. I highly recommend Shephard Health- they are like family!!!
