I had been to all the doctors and specialists and they all told me I was very healthy and couldn’t explain why I was feeling the way I was. They wished they could fix me but they had nothing. I quickly found out Dr. Lee is one of a kind in the way that most doctors will not touch your C1 or C2 vertebrae, and after my first appointment (where we took x-rays of my neck) she found out they most of the issue. Expérience négative: I was suffering from post concussion syndrome for over a year I tried everything and I was out of options so I went here because I heard good things. The first appointment was an assessment and an x-ray and it cost like $200 or something and then she said come back next week for an adjustment. I went back and then she like measured me in a assessed me and then she was like OK here’s the adjustment and the adjustment was basically a two finger press on my neck about as hard as you’d press the space bar on a keyboard and that was it. I’m no doctor, but I’m pretty sure that doesn’t do anything. She then told me I was aligned all good after that. I should’ve accepted that I just wasted my money but I was so desperate, I couldn’t work or live my life so I was willing to keep trying anything. Next week I went back and she asked me how I was feeling, if I was so sore or if anything changed after the last apt and I said, no literally nothing happened and then she said ok see how that goes then or something. (This was like 2 years ago but I’m still bothered haha) I was then charged for that apt, it was like 5 mins and nothing happened in it, I couldn’t believe it. not hating, maybe this could help you, im just saying what happened with me here. Anywhoooo we got a happy ending here, I regrouped, developed a plan and took the following year to get back to normal and now I’m better than before.

Expérience négative: I had a very unpleasant experience with Dr. Lee. Instead of focusing on my treatment or my health concerns, she chose to lecture me about not coming for 1.5 years, implying that this was "unacceptable." This assumption felt incredibly unfair, as she had no idea about my personal circumstances. I interrupted her and said, "This is what gives chiropractors a bad name." to which she doubled down, stating we evidently have "different goals" for my health. The interaction felt more about her expectations than my well-being as a patient. Overall it felt dismissive and unprofessional. The iPad stand across the room so her back is turned to you has to be the worst setup for making a patient feel welcome or valued. On a positive note, the receptionist is kind and helpful. Unfortunately, my interaction with Dr. Lee left me frustrated and I will not be returning.

Expérience fantastique: I was having terrible headaches that weren't classified as migraines. The head ache would be there when I woke up and stay with me all day. It was exhausting! The doctor said they were classic tension head aches and that I needed to relax. Ironically life was less stressful at that point than it had been in many years. Matty suggested I come in so that he could check if I was misaligned. I really liked his approach - "If it ain't broke, we won't break it". It turned out that when I stood up straight I actually tilted to one side quite visibly! I signed up for treatment and within the first two weeks I was sleeping better and my headaches had decreased. Now, about 8 weeks later my headaches are completely gone. I don't wake up with a stiff neck and my chest pains are gone. Thank you UC Life!

Expérience négative: Dr. Lee harmed me with her care two years ago. I have never been the same after the x rays I had to do as my atlas moved so much and was never adjusted properly. I had to seek care with an expert in the USA afterwards. She is unable to read upper cervical x rays properly which is absolutely concerning and astonishing given that this is the area she adjusts. Please be careful if you have upper neck instability/ CCI/ AAI.

Expérience fantastique: Treatments from Dr. Lee have changed my life for the better. For the past 1+ year I have been dealing with migraines, confusion, brain fog and balance issues possibly from some head/neck trauma. It was so debilitating at times it would limit being able to do daily activities such as driving, working etc. It's been less than 2 weeks of treatment, and my brain is functioning the best it has in years and I feel like I have my life back. I highly recommend!

Expérience fantastique: My wife and I are both patients of Dr Lee. We have nothing but praise for her skills and personability. Unfortunately we won't get to see her that often anymore because she has moved her practice to Victoria, from Courtenay.

Expérience négative: I was initially given a lot of promises by Dr. Kittleson that he could address my neck and back issues - this being what he does for a living. He also said that my benefits would cover much or all of the $350 bill for his x-rays and initial consultation. As it turned out, despite having a great benefits plan, zero of the x-rays were covered and 2/3rds of the 1st visit was not either. That should have been my first real red flag. But I knew the subsequent visits would be mainly funded by my plan, so despite the initial costly set back (and the fact that the Dr showed zero remorse or any expression at all when I told him my benefits didn't cover the fees he said they would), I kept attending. I continued to experience no improvements whatsoever however. Instead I was regularly reassured that I wouldn't see results at first but that the adjustments would soon truly address my spine issue. After six sessions with either this type of feedback, or various long-winded explanations that never really answered my questions, he suddenly stated he could do nothing for me and even called himself a "one trick pony". And that was that. About the only valuable thing Matthew gave me was the suggestion to practice the "Foundation training" videos that are free on Youtube. (Even there, he at first said he had lots of such resources, but when I asked for more, he told me to do a Google search for back exercises). It's been almost 2 months since my last visit - I wanted to give more time to see if any latent improvements would happen. Sadly, there has been none in the slightest. On the scale of quackery to actual medicine, I'd put this practitioner's methods squarely in the first camp.

Expérience fantastique: Hey. I am seeing Dr. Kittleson at UC Life. I have had pretty bad post concussion syndrome for 2 years now. With as little as 2 treatments I am already noticing a reduction in light sensitivity and sound sensitivity. Also it no longer feels like I am looking at the world crooked. My eyes seem to focus better and I can see a crisp outline around objects- it hasn't been this way in a long time. I had neck tightness on one side that felt like rocks piled up, after the first treatment this long term nagging tightness eased off, and the muscles feel more natural. My postural assessment before treatment revealed I was quite "off"- these inequalities in alignment also corrected themselves after the first treatment. It is nothing short of miraculous. Expérience fantastique: This place changed my life! I had increasingly frequent and painful headaches for two years. By the time I went to UC Life they were every day. Some times they would last all day or just flick on and off throughout the day like a light. I couldn't sleep or exercise or play with my son or be intimate with my partner without pain. I was depressed and irritable, everything was over shadowed by nagging pain. I'd had my neck adjusted before by another chiropractor which didn't help. There is no twisting and snapping here.
