Expérience fantastique: I went to GRSM for back rehab, as I've suffered from more than a decade of pain and it was getting in the way of starting a weightlifting routine. I finally decided to do something about it, and went to GRSM. I saw Jayde Matheson who has been phenomenal. She created a plan for me on initial assessment and in hardly a month, I was already feeling better. This wasn't just subjective, wasn't just a feeling. I mean, demonstrably better. Jayde tested the strength on the weaker parts of the back that needed help when I first came to see her. Around a month after that, she re-tested and I had made significant progress compared to the first day I saw her. She is the kind of professional I wish I'd seen sooner, I'd be pain free years ago. She is the reason why I have hope again and am excited to do things that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to. I am looking forward to starting a strength training routine without my back pain being a hindrance any longer. Thank you Jayde!

He is incredibly skilled and attentive, and his technique has really helped with my injuries, leaving a lasting impression. Zach, my physiotherapist, has been amazing as well, providing me with tools and exercises to build a toolbox for my balance and strength. Overall, my experience has been 10/10. Expérience positive: Referred there after a sport accident. I met with a doctor who refused to accept patients without mask on all the time (after covid in May 2023). He gave an initial diagnosis that is not qualified to get a referral and only after I challenged that, I got X- rays. The doctor then convinced to send a referral to a surgent. It is been 10 months now and no one called me to book an appointment. I felt they were more interested to book for physiotherapy. As an honest opinion, I do not recommend them. I am going to adjust the review here as the doctor and the center reached out to me and followed up on the referral. The efforts of getting this addressed was great. changing it from 1 to 4

She took the time to explain everything to me in detail before starting, what to expect, how the session would go, and what areas she’d be focusing on. It really put me at ease and showed how knowledgeable and caring she is. The massage itself was incredible, she knew exactly how to find and release every bit of tension I had. I left feeling completely relaxed, refreshed, and like a whole new person. You can tell she truly cares about her clients and takes pride in what she does. I highly recommend Cate to anyone looking for true quality, comfort, and care. One of the best massages I’ve ever had!

Expérience fantastique: I was pleased with my experience today. Steph asked all the questions to learn about my mobility issues due to a fall. She allowed me the opportunity to ask my questions as well. Steph provided exercises for me to do which in time will loosen things up and hopefully be pain free.

Expérience négative: I'm still in shock about my recent session with Steph.. she literally spent the entire time (minus the 3 minute update I shared in the beginning) talking about her personal life!!! I paid $100+ for almost an hour in exchange for her own therapy session with me. There was no psychoeducation, guidance, or any takeaways about the issues I came for - I'm incredibly disappointed with how unprofessional she was, and will not be coming back!

Expérience fantastique: I’m an elite distance runner that puts my body through a lot of mileage on tough terrains as a trail ultramarathoner. Naturally I get tight and sore shoulders, back, hips and legs due to this high demand on my body. For my visit with Adrian, he was easy to talk to about how I’m feeling and the work I wanted to get done. Familiar with my issues being a runner himself made me confident in his knowledge of sports focused massage. The treatment I received was able to relieve some of my issues on the first visit with him focusing on the key areas I discussed with him. I will be going back in the future.

I recently visited the clinic for an injury and Brian was my physio. His welcoming manner made me feel right at home and I felt very comfortable speaking about my history and cause for pain. He assessed the situation and explained everything as he went. While listening to my history, he also suggested I see my family doctor for something that I said and I am glad he did. Brian gave me exercises that were easy to follow and progressed to more challenging ones. My injury is now a thing of the past and I am grateful to be pain free again.

Expérience fantastique: I was given a friendly greeting upon arrival and my appointment time was exactly as scheduled. My physio therapist introduced his self to me and asked questions that would assist with my care. He was easy to speak with, very professional and had a sense of humor. He had me do a few exercises while he observed. As I was doing those exercises, he was taking my tolerance levels into consideration. After a few questions and a few exercises, he was able to come up with a plan for treatment which included frequency of appointments, and home exercises. The exercises were demonstrated by my therapist and then he asked me to perform them. He provided feedback while I was doing the exercises so that I would get the maximum benefit. Throughout this appointment, I felt heard and was made to feel comfortable. All of the staff that I encountered were very friendly, kind, and professional. I would highly recommend Grand River Sports Medicine Centre!

GRSM is a bright and airy facility, and I was greeted with friendly staff upon entering. The only thing I didn't like was the amount of noise in the treatment area, with a lot of conversations happening at once, it was sometimes difficult to hear, and some of the other clients were quite loud! Definitely recommend them for any injury, sports related or not. Thank you Alex for the treatment, I'm already starting to feel a difference in my shoulder!

Expérience positive: Referred by GP to a Sports Medicine doctor for a back and hip injury. Got an appointment in 2 months. Saw the doctor and the injury has healed, so didn’t really require their services. Clinic is clean, well staffed and parking lot has ample parking. Building and clinic are accessible.

Expérience fantastique: Having had persistent pain in my left shoulder, I booked an appointment with Brian at GRSM Kitchener. After the thorough evaluation, he defined a treatment plan that included wrapping the shoulder and an exercise plan. These together alleviated the pain in 3 days. Great job and thank you Brian.

Expérience fantastique: Went through a finger injury during Rock climbing and went to see Jason Smith for physiotherapy based of recommendations from other fellow climbers. I cannot recommend Jason enough for guiding me through the rehab process and getting stronger in both hands compared to where I started! He is very knowledgeable all things climbing and was able to breakdown the all the aches and pains I was feeling. 5 star review well deserved!

Expérience fantastique: I went to GRSM last week for the first time. What a fantastic experience! I was very nervous and in a great deal of pain in my left hip from a ski injury. I knew my hip & pelvis weren't broken after leaving Collingwood General. But had no idea what was pulled or wrong with my hip area? I also didn't know how long my recovery would be? I was thinking several months. It didn't take my therapist Alex Mineo very long to figure out were my pain was coming from. She was exceptionally knowledgeable, experienced and quite delicate with me while trying to locate the source of pain. I was relived to hear my recovery is only 4-6 weeks. Thank goodness! Instantly after my treatment I could already feel the difference and was in a lot less pain. I'll be able to drive there myself this week for my follow-up! Thank you so much Alex!!

She asked a lot of questions let me interject as I needed to answered all my questions. Expérience fantastique: Can't recommend GRSM enough (and Jason Smith in particular) for climbing-specific injury rehab. Following the sequence of finger-training programs laid out for me, I was back on the wall within a week. By 8 weeks, not only was I nearly completely pain free, but I managed to climb my first V9! Throughout, visits were always a pleasure - staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to changes in condition and performance. Since our sessions ended, I've followed along with the strength-building program Jason recommended - it's been 4 weeks and today I accidentally ripped my portable fingerboard in half during a peak force test. Felt like a sign I should leave that 5-star review XD

Dave is an excellent physiotherapist, listens well, combines treatment with exercises and always monitors pain levels. He's so personable and puts you at ease right away - over the years we have shared stories of pets, careers, travel...such a great, all around individual!

Expérience fantastique: My Son plays Rep Hockey for Kitchener, and he was injured in a collision last weekend. I was really concerned that his pain was so prolonged, especially with tryouts a few weeks away. I wasn't sure where to take him to get him acute care. GRS were able to see him for a same day appointment, and Zach was able to assess and reassure us. We have a plan in place to get him on the path to healing before tryouts. Thanks guys!

Expérience fantastique: I did a number of sessions with Jason Smith after an injury prevented me from rock climbing for several months. Jason took the time to understand the root cause of the issue and provided a routine with exercises that were updated after each session. Before the sessions I was really questioning whether I'd ever be able to climb again. After the sessions I've recovered enormously. Not only am I back to climbing again, but I now better understand how climbing injuries are caused, how to prevent them, and how to build strength safety. Thank you Jason!

Expérience fantastique: I have been going to GRSM for over a year now for physiotherapy. I have been seeing Zach. I have nothing but positive things to say about GRSM. The staff at reception are friendly. The new online booking system makes it very convenient to book/change appointments. There are a variety of times available throughout the week. The facility is big, although it can sometimes be a bit noisy during peak times. Zach has been a fantastic physiotherapist. I have had chronic pain, and he is very attentive and listens to what I am saying. I always feel comfortable bringing concerns forward and feel as though we have been working together for my care. Would definitely recommend GRSM to anyone looking for physiotherapy. I have been to both the Cambridge and Kitchener location, and they're both great.

Expérience fantastique: Dr. Lee always takes the time to get me back into place and running again. After constant back pain and unable to run, I was referred to Dr. Lee from a friend. Within I visit, he had my pain decreased and my ROM was getting back to normal. This past year I completed my first marathon, I definitely would have never been able to complete it without my month visits with Dr. Lee to keep my back and hips in place.

Very patient with me even when I wasn't the best patient (admittedly I sometimes didn't do my exercises). He really took the time to decipher exactly what I needed to regain full mobility. Hopefully I don't need to see him again BUT if I do....I'll gladly see Zach again lol

Not only has he helped me fully recover from a nagging sports injury, I always leave my appointments feeling immediate physical and mental improvement, ready with a new mindset to take on the day. Patients are allowed to complete an information survey online so are brought straight in without having to answer a lot of questions at the counter. The facility is very neat and clean. My physiotherapist David Burnett was friendly and affable during our initial interview during which he thoroughly assessed my condition and created a treatment plan for me. I was trained on a series of exercises to do at home with instructional videos sent home for me to follow. When I left the office I was completely happy with the process and was confident of my recovery. I highly recommend this clinic.

Expérience fantastique: I have been seeing Zach Homes for 10 months and cannot thank him enough for his professionalism and ability to give me back my health for the better. GRSM was very professional and wonderful with all interactions during my time attending the facility. Zach has been instrumental in helping me slowly regain movement in my neck. We review our excercise plan at every appointment altering the plan based on how much I can personally handle at that time. After each appointment at the end of the day I receive my updated program by email with pictures. Zach is very efficient and takes his patients recovery very seriously. He listens and understands so he can meet you where you are at weekly. Zach has supported me in sending an updated progress letter for my insurance company for their records. GRSM has been very helpful in my recovery and I am extremely satisfied with all of the staff I have connected with. Thanks again to Zach for being a great physiotherapist.

I saw Jason Smith for several weeks and he helped me get back into climbing effectively. I really enjoyed how Jason showed me that my strength numbers increased week after week as I recovered!

Expérience fantastique: I am a client of Grand River Sports Medicine in Kitchener. Brian Findlay is my Physiotheraphist. I exerienced a running injury and I felt I would never be able to run marathons again. Brian got me back on track and worked with me for many sessions.
