Expérience fantastique: I had carpal tunnel, release surgery and my hand felt better instantly.Aside from the swelling and surgery, not having numbness in my hand was incredible schedule for my second one.Thank you Dr Sharinga you rock!

Expérience fantastique: Lynn did an amazing job explaining my sagittal band injury and the ligament anatomy. She treated me very well and I can tell she has the experience and the touch for healing hands! Thanks Lynn!

Colleen Lapensee Publié le Google

Expérience négative: My surgery left my hands much worse. I wish I hadn't done it.

Mohannad Khalil Publié le Google

Expérience négative: I have called about 5 times now, all in different days, different times, within business hours, and still not a single response. Extremely unorganized

Ridhima Wason Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I met with Lynn the occupational therapist for a Mallet Finger injury, she was amazing and took extra care to get the proper fit splint for my finger. She explained everything so well and took her time to fix the splint I got at the hospital to make sure it fits me well.

Christine Masters Publié le Google

Expérience négative: I had carpel tunnel release done on both hands, had complications and tried to call this office to be seen, no one returned my call. My family doctor wrote a letter requesting that I be seen and no response was received by myself or my family doctor. I have since been referred to different hand surgeon that immediately knew what was wrong and had another surgery to correct these issues. I am recovering from the second surgery and my hand is feeling almost normal after having 7 months of chronic pain after initial carpel tunnel release. Not impressed at all with the surgeon at handworx. No communication, no follow up, no accountability.

Linda Q Publié le Google

Expérience négative: No physiotherapists on staff at Handworx as of summer 2025, even though their website specifies physiotherapy. Occupational therapists are available, but no physio.

Michael Yaworski Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I had an assessment done with a hand therapist (I believe that is the correct title). The overall experience was high quality and welcoming. It was a much higher quality experience than I had anywhere else. I was able to pick her brain to answer all of my questions for a while, and didn't feel rushed at any point. I do recommend visiting for at least an assessment. I can't speak to how their therapy or surgery is.

Roy Silva Publié le Google

Expérience négative: Years after my two surgeries done by this "surgeon" a carpal tunnel release and an ulnar nerve decompression, the pain is worse and the symptoms still remain. Get a second opinion before you let this "surgeon" operate on any part of you. If I could turn back time... the only thing I would change would be following through with this "surgeons" recommendations. True specialists discovered the real culprit of my pain and discomfort... nothing related to what this "surgeon" recommended and operated on. Shame we trust what doctors tell us only to discover they weren't ever as knowledgeable as we were led to believe. Buyer beware... you may not pay for it up front but you will be paying in pain down the road.

JUAN CARRILLO Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I had a great experience in my first appointment with the Occupational Therapist Lynn. She is absolutely amazing, compassionate and professional. I have had many appointments with health care professionals during these 8 years in Canada, and I can say that so far I have never received a kind treatment like she offered me. Honestly, I am absolutely glad with her professionalism. I cannot recommend her long enough. Thank you very satisfied with the service

Matt Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: The OT, Lynn, was great. I’d highly recommend seeing her specifically for your hand recovery needs.

Nicole Anna-Lynne Smith Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I had two surgeries back to back with Dr. Jewer this past summer (2025) and into the fall for a DeQuervain’s Tenosynovitis release and then for a trigger thumb release. For over two years prior to meeting Dr. Jewer, I was stuck in a rabbit hole of ineffective treatment and ping pong from one doctor to another, one physiotherapist to another and one cortisone shot to another. When I asked my family doctor to refer me to a surgeon she refused and by the time I met Dr. Jewer I had virtually no use of my dominant right hand due to the insane pain of DeQ. Dr. Jewer examined my hand and immediately booked me for surgery within two weeks time. Following the surgery, I developed trigger thumb approximately one month later which she had mentioned may happen and she booked surgery immediately to release that as she was going on mat leave and wanted to do it before she left. Dr. Jewer is a beautiful, funny, caring highly skilled, extremely personable and no bullshit down to earth surgeon. She shoots from the hip and gets it done. She is realistic and doesn’t hold back. My experience in the waiting room was met with a friendly and extremely helpful and sensitive administrator and overall I am so happy to be pain free in my wrist and hand with great mobility post surgery despite the wear and tear that surgery and chronic inflammatory conditions exist. I would highly recommend Dr. Jewer.

Jesse Dawes Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I thought I would of never moved my hand agian I had total of 5 breaks in one bone in my right hand and my wrist all he say was don’t lose hope and he was very positive thank you dr suringa

rob price Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I highly recommend Dr. Jewer! Injury to Distal Radius in July, surgery in August, back to 85% two months post-OP, with room to improve. Original prognosis held the opinion I had “lost 65% use of the hand”. I am so thankful!

Vida Nadafi Sichani Publié le Google

Expérience négative: How can a doctor, who has taken an oath to care for patients, show such disregard and lack of responsibility towards those in need? There isn’t even a receptionist available to assist or guide patients when they call.

Heather Campbell Publié le Google

Expérience positive: Dr. Corneman was awesome in my recent surgeries. The clinic staff not so much...rude and don't return phone calls.

Anna Petrone Publié le Google

Expérience négative: I was told my surgery would be in January 2023, it’s been a year and a half and I have not even received a phone call

Sami A Publié le Google

Expérience négative: I do not recommend this place. Feel free to look at the other reviews to learn more about how this place is has a rude self-centred receptionist. My doctor referred me here specifically so I could see the OT they knew at Handworx. The receptionist tossed out my referral without calling me or my doctor about doing so. I ended up starting treatment late and grew tons of scar tissue in the process. I have lost mobility in my left thumb. All because she didn’t like how far my address was. FYI I called and explained why I needed to come in and said I’d be taking care of my own transportation as all patients do. She was *extremely rude* and unprofessional. I will never forget the conversation I had with her. She should not be working at a medical practice.

Alec Cook Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I am extremely fortunate to have had physio with Adrienne Nichols. She facilitated not only the healing of my wrist, but more importantly, the healing of my soul. I looked forward to my sessions with her. She was very empathetic, and understanding of her customers various financial situations. She consistently went above and beyond to ensure my wellbeing. I cannot recommend her enough

DW Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I have had two surgeries with Dr. Shuringa. He did not waste time and let my condition get worse. I would definitely recommend him to anyone with Dupuytren's contracture.

Hussain Lakhani Publié le Google

Expérience négative: Dr Jewer Do not give the patient time to speak. The appointment was less than 5 minutes. I could not speak to her. Very unprofessional and unethical doctor I’ve ever met.

Ashley Mcdermott Publié le Google

Expérience négative: Not very pleased that they rebooked my appointment from Jan 30 th to feb 5th. Couldn’t make that appointment cuz it’s not enough time to set up a ride with odsp as I don’t live in Kitchener. But I called almost everyday for a week and got nothing back. Even left many voicemails. Still got nothing back. I know this isn’t the doctors fault either. I have carpel tunnel, tendinitis, on top of that I was seeing another specialist about a cyst in my left wrist and fluid in my right wrist(from a cyst) that is now causing me to get sick. Now I have to go to my doctor and wait months to a year again. Or go to the hospital which does nothing to help me. I have only been trying to get help for 3 years now so what’s a little longer I guess. It’s not them going through it. Feeling like doctors and the office just don’t care anymore

Ghofran Dahhan Publié le Google

Expérience négative: Dr Elyse Jewer Do not give the patient time to speak. The appointment was only three minutes. I could not speak to her. She got up from the chair and went towards her office door, and I was still talking to her as if she was harassing me. I will never go again.

Alana Drone Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: Dr. Jewer is great! Full explanation of procedure, very little wait time to be seen. Quick appointment times.

Geri Reid Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I just had carpal tunnel surgery. I was very anxious... Dr. Jewer made me feel very comfortable and calm, along with her team in the surgical room. She is very confident and most knowledgeable about her profession in surgery. I go back next week to get the stitches out. I get my other hand done in Oct. and she will be doing it with a much calmer patient.

J D Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I just wanted to take the time to say that my physiotherapist, Lynn, is an absolutely lovely person. She is very kind and caring, and I feel confident that, in her hands, I will recover from my flexor tendon surgery quite well.

Tracey Babineau Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I was grateful to finally have the opportunity to have the surgery I needed

Paul Hunter Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I’m very impressed with the expertise and professionalism of Doctor Jewer. I have met with her on several occasions after MRI’s and CT’s for my wrists. I have not had surgery yet but would not hesitate when it might be required. She is easy to communicate with and has a very caring personality.

May Marie Publié le Google

Expérience négative: I met with Dr. Schringa this morning. Sadly this turned out to be a huge waste of my time, money, and resources. I was sent here by WSIB. He had my previous medical records so that also came with his own bias and predeterminations rather than looking at me as the patient - and seeing what he could do. He made up his mind long before I got there. However, he agrees something is causing my wrist pain - but no WSIB doctor is willing to find out what. News Flash: MRI’s don’t catch everything! And he didn’t even bother with trying to look at my other wrist - which is the whole reason I was sent there in the first place!! It’s pathetic how doctors aren’t even willing to practice full patient care anymore. Particularly WSIB paid doctors. I will find a doctor who will actually look at the whole arm. UPDATE: New imaging found additional problems - this one missed it as did the first specialist because neither were willing to look further. The arrogance of these entitled self-proclaimed "know-it-alls" clearly need their ego's checked! Now I'm living proof this one and the other one seriously dropped the ball! Always advocate for yourself. 2nd UPDATE: Ulnar Impaction Syndrome found in left wrist (the wrist I was referred to him for) - had this "specialist" bothered to do any imaging it would have been found sooner.

Soyeb Dalal Publié le Google

Expérience négative: Really poor response from reception. You could call 10 times and never have anyone actually taken the call. They keep changing appointments at will. Barely any proper follow up.

Shawn Greeley Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: staff are very friendly makes u never wanna leave lol and accommodating would definitely recommend

Blain Haywood Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: Dr Jewer is absolutely awesome. This was my first surgery and she made me feel comfortab. Thank you Dr Jewer and all the nurses that help on the day of my surgery

J Keats Publié le Google

Expérience négative: Far from impressed with Dr Corneman. Less then welcoming first impression. Super pleasant to his staff. He asked numerous times the same questions with me clearly stating I didn't recall the previous Dr's name who removed my ganglion cyct and even told him I answered that question. Found him useless and terrible patient dr rapport. He had the audacity to send an unpleasant followup to my nurse practitioner as to why I was there and the other dr hadn't followed up with me. Again, answered that question too. Wouldn't recommend!! Like I said far from impressed from start to finish. P.S. don't pay the 3 dollar parking fee when you can park on the street for FREE.

Priyanka Jain Publié le Google

Expérience négative: Please do not buy any item from this place . I went in underground facility, no signal there and they showed me compression gloves. I thought it might give relive ( truth it didn’t) . So I decided to buy by trusting them . They sold me gloves for 53$ when the company who produces that gloves sell it for 14$. DO NOT BUY anything from this place . Will comment on physio next time.

Loai Shaheen Publié le Google

Expérience négative: Went in to see the doctor who didn’t take any time to really understand my injury, and when I tried to explain it to him he got annoyed with me and rushed me out of his office.

Jen Z Publié le Google

Expérience positive: Dr Jewer is great, she has been very supportive and reassuring about treating my 2x rare nerve issues. Also, PT Lynn has been AMAZING; an all around great human being, and very caring. Unfortunately I have to give a lower rating because of the front office staff. I'm not sure why, but they always seem completely miserable, can be quite rude and it's extremely difficult to get through to someone by phone. I was having a very uncomfortable post surgery issue at home alone and it took me 15+ calls (I lost count) to get through to the front desk; there was no option to leave a voicemail when I was calling either. I wish the front office staff could be a friendlier, more helpful bunch.

Steve Main Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: Great staff, Dr S repaired my 100% dislocated babyfinger and then I did my therapy downstairs. Also for commuters there is a bike rack outside that is sturdy and won't move.

M H Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: Dr Jewer has been great on getting my wrist back up and running. TFCC tear on my left wrist. She’s very knowledgeable in her field. All around great experience. I wouldn’t be worried about coming here. You’ll be in great hands.

Ruppan Grewal Publié le Google

Expérience négative: My son broke his hand and had appointments with Dr. Corneman, and the doctor canceled on him 3 times, and those cancellations were on the SAME DAY. 3 times is crazy. When patients themselves cancel on the same day, theres always a minimum $50 fee. Very unprofessional and time consuming for my son. Thank you.

Larry Stevenson Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: Dr. Elyse Jewer, gave me a Kenalog Injection, May 5 and told me that after 7 days "trigger thumb" should be gone, I awoke on the 8th day and no more clicking and no pain. I enjoyed all aspects of my encounter with Dr. Jewer. A big thumbs up to her.

Expérience négative: I was pondering whether or not to do a posting, but it bothers me so much I feel I need to. I seen Dr. Schringa on April 26th, this was my initial consultation with him that lasted 2mins. I've been I pain for more than 2 years, I have arthritis pain in my right hand and it can be severe at times. He says to me he can do an injection and I said no and that I have already had one and it did not last and I do not want another. He tells me there is nothing else he can offer me. I in turn asked him what about an operation? His reply was that he didn't feel I was a good candidate because of my job. I drive truck for a living , the hardest thing I do is shifting gears. So he leaves the office and the receptionist comes to me and hands me a form to get an exray done and maybe he may make an appt in the future this doctor is smog arrogant and rude good luck get a second opinion.

M S Publié le Google

Expérience négative: First visit to Dr. Corneman’s office, and it will be the last. Waited over an hour and no acknowledgement of my even being there. The doctor left the office with a coffee in his hand during my appointment time and came back 20 mins later. Then I heard 2 ladies say their appointment was 15 mins after mine and they got called in before me, within 5 minutes of arriving. When I spoke to the receptionist, she said I needed to wait for the students working there to see me. Well the students were in an open door office shooting the breeze with a man for over half an hour and when he left, one of the students just played on the computer with no effort to get up, look up or acknowledge anyone. Not to mention that their waiting room seating is RIGHT outside the patient rooms! The chairs are literally within 2-6’ of each patient room in the pod. Where is the privacy? It was clear that they don’t respect their patients’ time. So, after letting the receptionist know, I left and wasn’t seen by anyone. No apologies, nothing. Paid my $3.00 parking fee for absolutely nothing! If I was late over an hour, I’m sure I would have been shown the door. Will not go back at all!

Expérience négative: 5 weeks, no returned emails or phone messages after dozens of attempts by phone and multiple emails requesting responses. It is a major problem in patient care. If you need forms signed for disability at work, I recommend that you consider a different clinic.

Christine Van Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: Dr. Jewer is amazing she did both my hands for carpul tunal and everything went very smoothly and made me always feel very comfortable and explained all the process. She is a great Doctor.

Pat Carlson Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I have had multiple finger/hand surgeries from the team at this clinic and the staff are amazing. The whole team is welcoming (the administrative staff are wonderful!!), knowledgeable, caring.....took a lot of time to explain issues and listen to my concerns. I recently had a surgery on my arm for what was thought to be a malignant lesions and Dr. Jewer was so caring, calming, patient.....explained all the options, issues and possible outcomes. I have had 6 procedures over the past 5 years, performed by 3 different surgeons affiliated with this clinic and all of them have been superior in their care and practice.

Expérience négative: First appointment with Dr. Schringa was good and surgery was booked within 2 days for my right hand. After surgery at the hospital I was given a sheet of instructions and an appointment to come to the Handworx office to have stitches removed 2 wks later. Also when I was at the first appointment he booked me for my left hand 4 wks later. I had the surgery on my left at the hospital but it was with Dr Jewer and given the same introductions but she didn't give me a follow up appt to have stitches removed On that afternoon I tried to call Handwox but had to leave a message. I have since tried to teach them 2 more times for an appt but no return call. It is now 2 wks and the stitches haven't been removed and no one has called back.

Hi Jessica, we are sorry for that inconvenience - we are actually moving to a new facility and there is a lot more room for everyone and should alleviate this issue!

Expérience positive: Dr. Schuringa did a wonderful consult, scheduled a quick surgery and took care of my 3 trigger fingers in one go. Followup was a breeze and my hand is completely healed. (2014) 4 stars because I've been referred to this office for a different trigger finger issue (2019) and my Dr's office has not received any response from anyone in that office over the past 2 months. I understand that there are 2 other doctors there now. I would appreciate some feedback.

Expérience négative: Very poor quality service

Sabina Voisin Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: Adrienne and Dr. Ho were both fantastic with diagnosing and treating the pain I was having in my hand. I gather that my problem is fairly common, but they both took the time to thoroughly explain it to me, along with my treatment options (both immediate and for the future if the problem recurs). I felt very comfortable with the treatment, and it's worked!! My hand is back to normal and I'm so grateful to them both!

Robert Horvath Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: Great experience at Handworx! I've been dealing with a thumb problem for close to a year (probably too long). The hand therapist, Adrienne, took the time to look at x-rays previously taken and did a thorough physical exam on my thumb. We've decided on a plan of action that I'm happy with and look forward to completing.

Jody Publié le Google

Expérience négative: I went to see Dr.Schuringa after my family doctor diagnosed me with having a trigger finger. He never once evaluated my finger, he pressed on the palm of my hand and said "Yup it's a trigger finger" he then proceeded to give me a cortisone shot and sent me on my way. I felt rushed out of the office, he didn't ask questions or seem to care at all. The cortisone shot did nothing for the lump in my finger and the pain got worse. My family doctor said the next step was surgery so I asked to see a different doctor after having a less than satisfactory visit at Handworx. I was referred to a plastic surgeon who told me in less than 5 seconds that I didn't have a trigger finger, I in fact had a ganglion cyst. He drained the cyst and I have been pain free ever since. I encourage Dr.Schuringa to do a proper consult/physical and maybe things like this wouldn't happen.

Katie Bulkiewski Publié le Google

Expérience fantastique: I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Peter Schuringa. I went in, unsure as to what was happening with my right hand; very swollen, numb and painful. I had recently been diagnosed with mild carpal tunnel in the hand (by another doctor) but what I was experiencing was awful... Dr. Peter Schuringa wanted to help me as soon as possible, and we opted to do the carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand a week later. Although extremely hesitant and nervous, the surgery was over before I knew it and the healing process began. It was a longer surgery recovery, and some days were really hard. But having had the surgery in December and it now being the end of April, I couldn't be happier as it's as though I haven't had the surgery at all. My hand is back to 100%!* *Note I did have other factors that made my recovery much longer than the typical person. I highly recommend Dr. Schuringa and the staff at Handworx!!

Jennifer Barnim Publié le Google

Expérience négative: Handworkx - Waterloo is easily amoung the worst factions of Ontario's Private health sector. After being referred to the location by a physician at Grand River Hospital, Handworkx was supposed to call me within 3 business days. Fast forward 4 weeks - I have called 4 times, left 2 messages and still no response. Today (Monday October 17th, 2016) I call again - I finally get an appointment and skip my afternoon classes to walk 5 Km there. Once I get there I was met with very poor reception, whom failed to tell me the Dr. was still in surgery and wasn't even in the building! I then waited 50 minutes past my original appointment time and then decided that this office and their customer service has failed at providing adequate service. Simply put - Handworkx displayed nothing more than poor manners to a willing customer.
