Fantastic experience: Love the chiropractor here! Corey is attentive and provides good assessment of my problem. Rather than hard selling for more treatment, he suggests that I focus on ergonomics which is spot on! I love his work ethics. Note: this place doesn't take credit card but e-transfer is ok. I think that's fair.

Negative experience: LOVE DR. COREY. Very professional. Lovely and kind. Able end o solve my issue in one visit. BUT POOR RECEPTION training. Front desk refuse to correct my invoice and not willing to submit my MSP claim because I m the last Px of the day. She was able to check on the computer to let me know that I m eligible to MSP coverage but she can’t submit the claim for me because she has already branch out the bank account. I have no idea how she can decide that she has the Authority to take away my citizen right to not submit my MSP claim but just simply ask me to pay out from my extended insurance. Love the DR, will return. But shame on the reception for how she do a poor job on making an appointment for two and showing her “px is not welcoming behavior “

Fantastic experience: I was in a serious bike accident a couple of years ago and fractured my spine in several places. I saw physiotherapists and went for numerous massage therapy sessions but nothing was adequately relieving the discomfort and nerve sensation that bothered me on a daily basis. It wasn't until I visited Dr. Corey Leung at Vancouver Back Institute that I finally found some relief from my chronic pain. He and his staff were very patient with all of my questions and were quite approachable. It only took a few sessions for me to see a real difference and I genuinely felt that Dr. Leung was concerned for my health and well being. He was kind, asked the right questions, patient and very welcoming. Professional and friendly do not even begin to describe the great experience I had. I would highly recommend Vancouver Back Institute to my friends and family (and already have).

Fantastic experience: Writing on behalf of the husband who got treatment from Corey previously to fix his slipped disc. Corey recommended the spinal decompression. Corey treated husband's excruciating back pain with what seemed like a simple and painless treatment. It really worked. The husband tends to exhibit poor posture when lifting anything heavy. And the x-ray showed proof that it did some bad to his spine. Thank goodness to Corey's magical hands and the spinal decompression machine. It was the only one in Richmond back then. I'm not sure about now. But if we had any issues, we would go back, without a doubt. Thanks Corey and his team for their exemplary work and professionalism.

Fantastic experience: I went to see Corey for my neck and shoulder issue. I had "frozen shoulder" issue 2 months ago and I've seen 2 physio therapists and many sessions of massages -- nothing really worked. Corey's treatment truly helped and improved the range of motion of my shoulder. He shows real care of the patient and deep knowledge of my condition. His logic of what happened to my shoulder totally makes sense -- more importantly, his treatment and methodology really made a difference. Can't say enough how much I appreciate Corey's help!

Negative experience: I have had 3 appointments at Vancouver Back Institute so far. Although Dr. Corey is a nice guy, charming and probably equipped to treat back pain, I don't believe I got the best treatment for my uneven pelvis (diagnosed by Dr. Corey himself) which has been giving me some sciatic nerve pain. At $55 per appointment (they rec. doing at least 25 appts), I was strapped each time to their machine for 30 minutes and had a cold laser on my affected areas afterwards. I'm not entirely sure how a spinal decompression machine was going to fix my uneven pelvis when the only thing it was treating was my spine. From what i've read online, spinal decompression works best with other therapies (such as stretching and adjustments) rather than just on its own. So clearly that type of treatment on its own wasnt going to get to the root cause of my pain, just relieve some symptoms (which it wasnt successful in doing anyway). I get neck pain from work and although it is probably muscle related, I mentioned it to Dr. Corey and all he did was give me some massage gel to apply to the affected area. When i've gone to chiropractors in the past, they have helped with my muscle pain. I also asked some specific questions about how this machine would help me and was given indirect answers. When I called to cancel the remainder of my appointments, the receptionist said "okay" and then rudely hung up on me. Also, just a suggestion, but if you are going to charge $55 for a cancellation less than 24hrs before the appointment maybe you should be telling clients at the first appointment. And although I did appreciate the "this is the first time cancellation, so we'll let it go but charge the next time", letting your clients know at the first appointment might be a good idea.
