Negative experience: I don't know if the body work they provide is good or not, because the administration is so broken, I'll never know! Check out this chain of events over 72 hrs and how many points of failure there are: 1. I click a FB ad and book an appointment online for 2:00. 2. I get a voicemail saying 2:00 isn't available, would I like 1:40? I call back and confirm I'll take 1:40 (this was a weird conversation, incidentally). 3. Next day, I get an email saying I started the process but never booked an appointment. I reply that I did indeed, first at 2:00 and then for 1:40. 4. I get a response asking if 1:40 still works for me. I reply that obviously it does. 5. I get a response saying 1:40 is no longer available and can I call back to re-book yet again. 6. I reply 'No thanks, I won't re-book again'. I don't want to deal with such a gong show. I get a response confirming. 7. Next day I get a call at 1:45 to ask why I'm not at my appointment. Minimum FOUR points of failure in one booking attempt. Truly, truly ridiculous.

Positive experience: Treatment was ok & helpful but I felt it was too quick & short. Appointments pushed back to back in out quickly. Seems more about $$ then helping people

But finding Dr Whyte and Dr shook have been a life saver. Dr shook gets my lower back pain. And Dr Whyte always gets my neck pain. I've never had this kind of relief ever. Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Dr. Whyte for a few years, and I've been consistently, and pleasantly, surprised by how intuitively he is able to work on the body to get things moving properly. However, my last visit was life changing. Over a year ago, I'd gotten a bad concussion at work, and as time went on, quite contrary to everyone insisting that time would help to clear the thick brain fog, it only seemed to be getting worse. When I say that I had forgotten my own name when trying to introduce myself, that is not an exaggeration. I was really afraid that this was going to become my new Normal. I had mentioned my concussion in my last visit, in hopes that he may be able to help with the migraines I'd been getting since. He set my neck back into place, but then grabbed a glove and asked me to open my mouth. Maybe all of one minute later, after he'd pressed assorted areas of the roof of my mouth, and I felt steady again. My mind felt bright, and as much as I was relieved, I was nervous that it wouldn't last. But it's been a week, and so far I still feel like my old self again. Albeit a little off, after being lost in my own mind for the past year and a half. I feel as though I'm getting used to a program that I've been away from. But my recall is back, my focus is there, my irritability has been draining away, and I am so beyond grateful to feel as though I've been given my life back again.

Fantastic experience: I am totally blown away by how much better I feel after one treatment with Dr. Whyte! I went to see him after suffering a four day headache, which was accompanied by neck, shoulder, and upper back pain. I was assessed thoroughly, advised of what was happening in my body, and then received a few adjustments, each providing more and more relief. Today is the day after treatment and I truly am blown away by how much better I feel, even after being on my feet all day at work and then yard work. After another treatment or two, I bet I will feel like a different person, haha The clinic is beautiful and peaceful, the entire team were wonderful to deal with in person and on the phone. Fantastic experience: Found out about Atlas via an advertisement on Facebook. I'm very happy I opened it. The shockwave treatment that was the initial promotion led to me then seeing Dr. Shook for some golf specific treatment. The shockwave has been so beneficial for me, as it really is a revealing tool if the individual has some areas of annoyance. Dr. Shook and Dr. Whyte are very nice gentleman. I had a pleasant and informative experiences with both. The Office, is also extremely clean and has a wonderful energy right when you walk in the door. He is not one of those chiros that after a few visits just starts doing a repetitive adjustment in 2 minutes then your are out. He actually takes the time at every appointment to see what type of treatment is needed at that moment. I highly recommend!

Last summer I fell backwards off a hiking path and rolled down a 25 ft ravine in Whistler sustaining extensive bruising and a head injury. Recently I was experiencing hip pain and decided I probably needed a realignment after the fall. I found the Clinic to be modern and inviting, and Dr Whyte and his staff friendly and welcoming. I am extremely impressed by Barry’s skill and expertise and after treatment to realigning my shoulders and hips I walked away pain free. During follow up visits he has treated me for vertigo and reversed damage to my ankles sustained 60 years before. I will be recommending Dr Whyte to all my friends and family.

Upon entering, the practitioner’s very first question was, “How did you hear about us?”—a comment that immediately shifted the focus to the business rather than me as a patient. As a professional in the medical and private practice field myself, this approach felt off-putting. A more patient-centered introduction, such as “I’m glad you made it in today” or “What brings you in?” would have been more welcoming. While I understand private clinics rely on referrals and advertising, prioritizing such inquiries as the initial point of contact felt awkward and impersonal, undermining the patient-practitioner connection. While I wouldn’t return for long-term care, I appreciated their expertise in orthotics. The response below, acknowledges my orthotics satisfaction but somewhat misses the mark on addressing the feedback about patient experience. I guess clarifying that my feedback was intended to highlight the importance of patient-centered care rather than establishing how to advertise the business was needed! It is evident that their advertising needs were super impersonal, despite what they write in their response...

My chiropractor told me that with my age 58 that I should expect discomfort and no change to my spine. Atlas Chiropractic has a new Chiropractor Dr.Travis Shook, he has brought knowledge and experience to a very busy office. Barry & Travis are now able to provide services Monday-Friday. Atlas is your key to a successful recovery ❤️‍ to greater health. I worked in the sawmill industry for 23 years, I also worked at shutdowns on vacation time at Pulpmill‘s for 35 years. Construction, Grand Prairie, Fort McMurray, etc. I have been on my feet wearing work boots. My feet have kept me upright. I have worn orthotics over the years and now for the last seven years I’ve been working for a school district and walking on concrete floors Monday through Friday. I had other orthotics from another establishment in Nanaimo that would not adjust my feet that he made at his home, if he had to adjust them he would adjust with a fee. He couldn’t get them to fit properly and they sit in my drawer not my shoes. I live in pain and still no orthotics. After my four years of not wearing orthotics because they were not working, I decided to start calling around and everybody was charging $500+ I called Atlas Chiropractic and spoke to the orthotics, technician they said $400. I said I would like to make an appointment. I Received my orthotics. I tried them on, after a month my feet adjusted and I couldn’t be happier. I started calling my coworkers and telling them where to get the best orthotics in Nanaimo. Thank you Atlas for changing my gait, I no longer live in pain.

Fantastic experience: I was down and out, convinced I had a dislocated rib, suffering through days of agony and shallow breathing. Desperate for relief, I called Atlas Chiropractic, hoping for a same-day appointment, and to my great relief, they got me in. After a thorough adjustment, I still felt a bit beat up but had hope that things would improve. By the evening, I was sore in a different way, feeling my ribs and connective tissues working things out. A dose of Advil, a good night's sleep, and the next day, I'm feeling great. Fantastic experience: Dr. White is by far the best chiropractor I have seen. I have had back problems for 15 years and have severe trust issues with Chiropractors due to a very negative previous experience. Dr. White was able to put me at ease with his fact based approach and by talking things through with me. I would highly recommend Dr. White to anyone needing chiropractic care, don't roll the dice... Go with a sure thing Update Jan/21 Wishing I could change my rating to 6 out of five stars. Dr. White has helped me avoid surgery so far. About every 3 to 6 months my back blows out again to the point I can barely walk and Dr. White is able to quickly fins to problem areas and apply the appropriate chiropractic maneuvers to get me moving again.

Fantastic experience: My first time coming. The day I came December 29th. He explained everything to me. I have never had anyone explain the body to me before and when I say this meaning what is connectedto each other . I have gone to chiropractor in killaloe but nothing compared to here. I was in such pain. My whole r ight side of my back. I was pretty much broken lol I'm back today Dec 31st and feel great. I recommend you to here . Fantastic experience: I am new to Vancouver Island and suddenly found myself in excruciating pain from a fall that triggered a chronic problem. Dr Whytes office was able to squeeze me in for emergency appointment and I was assessed and treated by Barrie Whyte. He was professional and funny and got the job done ! I am feeling much better now and will continue to use this office when in need.

Fantastic experience: In 2017 I sprained my ankle, and never really gave it the treatment it deserved. It's left me feeling unstable for years now. I recently went to see Dr. Whyte, who took me in on his lunch break, as a desperate new client, out-of-whack form sleeping on a bad mattress and various other things... Not only did he fix up my body in general, he adjusted my foot/heel/ankle alignment and that sprained ankle feels brand new. Two weeks later and still no re-surfacing of the issue, either. He's great. His receptionist is lovely, and I definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Whyte never appears rushed and I have never had to wait long to go in. He is very thorough and gentle and my back has been steadily improving since I started seeing him for treatment.The office is clean and modern and there is lots of parking available. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Fantastic experience: In town visiting, and was delighted to find Atlas Chiropractic. They are very caring, thorough, professional, and friendly. Dr. Barry White seems to have a different, very holistic approach than most chiropractors, and his passion, extensive education and experience is evident in his treatment. He also has as a great sense of humour, and helps people feel at ease. They have hand sanitizer to use before entering, COVID protocols are observed. 5 stars all the way!

Fantastic experience: I had some back pain. I have visited a few Doctors. My friend recommended Dr. Barry. Eventually my issue has been fixed here. My families have visited Dr. Barry regularly whenever we had any body balance issues. Highly recommend.

I wanted to update it to reflect that I have continued to use Atlas over the years and have always gotten the same great service. Barry and Birgit have got more machines and services over the years and I have found the Shockwave Therapy to be really helpful.
