Wascana Rehabilitation Centre: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Went there for my baby's hearing test this Monday. Forgot the name of the lady who did the test. But she was so nice and welcoming.
Fantastic experience: I did the hand program in Wascana rehab with Brooke and Lisa! Very impressed
Fantastic experience: After experiencing a complete break in my hand and receiving surgery a year ago, the Wascana Hand Program helped me a lot. I am truly grateful for the support and help I received. It was a challenging time and going from no movement/flexibility, back to functionality, required assistance and a lot of work. Lisa was super helpful with the physical rehab and with communication regarding issues I was dealing with emotionally and psychologically. A year later, I am now fully functioning with 95+% flexibility in the affected joint. It was not an easy journey and am thankful for all the support I received at a time when I truly needed every bit of it.
Negative experience: only working water source (that fits any tall bottle) is in a LOCKED room 50% of the day. maybe you idiots can move it.
Negative experience: one of the patients is quadroplagic and the nurse broke his leg because he was careless, the poor patient wants to stand on his feet because unfortunately he hasn't had the chance yet, and this institution doesn't help him either.....they are not caring anymore, everyone just complain of the overwhelming schedule, management heartless, everyone have a rights to try to stand up...they can't controll it!!the patient just a number, this is makes me so sad...this place use to was a best place....not anymore...
Negative experience: I just LOVE how we the injured people have to walk twice as far to the building because everything near a door is for staff. completely braindead. and the vending machines dont even work.
Fantastic experience: I do not think any place could do a better job of rebuilding a human emotionally and physically then WRC! Amazing people with an amazing amount of patience.
Fantastic experience: Very nice people!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Wunder has a lot of patience for all the stoke or brain injury victims. The staffs there have been very helpful and providing daily life ideas. Thank you Dr. Wonder and the teams.
Positive experience: Treated very well for the 2 months I was there following my back surgery. Therapies were fantastic. The nursing staff on the units were great but always short staffed and over worked. Thank you all for your care.
Fantastic experience: Nice place
Negative experience: Not a fan of the OT, much better service in Alberta
Negative experience: I'll never forgive these "people" for the way they treated my quadriplegic sister. They only had her for about four months because she contracted cancer and died. Bringing her to this place was a huge mistake.
Negative experience: My experience on unit 3-2 was not good at all many systemic issues that prevent good healthy interventions. The hotel is accessible but can be complicated to deal with if you’re inpatient
Negative experience: Wascana Children’s program is joke. Go elsewhere if possible.
Fantastic experience: Doctor was great. Beautiful facility with friendly. Very
Fantastic experience: What can you say nobody wants to end up in rehabilitation and throw a so called pandemic in the mix as well they are doing outstanding considering how everything is turned upside down keep up the good work thank you Wascana rehab
Fantastic experience: Dr. Durani was a very caring soft spoken person. She listened to what I was saying and was very sympathetic. Wonderful person
Negative experience: It is a hit and miss trying to FaceTime my mom which is the only contact possible during CoViD right now. Some staff are great but you have to be worried when nurses or care staff tell you they will help mom to connect and it just doesn’t happen many times over and over for all of my mom’s 5 kids including me. And no we are not all trying to do so 5 times a day. More or less it is one of us per day. We are fiercely protective of our mom and we are starting to feel there is some neglect and possible abuse going on. We will not hesitate to contact legal services if this does not improve. To the staff who are helpful we hold you in high regard. For thor who don’t really care and you know who you are, either improve your quality of care which definitely includes being helpful and reliable with access to communication with loved ones or your actions may come under legal scrutiny. I know this is a tough time for all but please know you will not get away with neglecting or abusing our mom.
Fantastic experience: As a patient and not a visitor I can only speak on the care. It was awesome. So kind and efficient. I can't thank them enough.
Negative experience: Very disappointed in the care received here. Far too many uncaring people and extremely negative additudes. Not to mention people leave the dinning area unfed as they tend to run out of food. Physio is horrible, if they are not cancelling then you're waiting up to 10 minutes before anyone even shows up and the time is not made up.
Negative experience: I was injured in a car accident and attended physio for a year before being sent here by the insurance company due to lack of progress. I had an Awful experience before I ever got there, never recovered and got cut off from any support and insurance I had because they did not continue looking into my issues further when I insisted something was wrong. They pushed me back to work early and I could Not do my job but they told me and my employer I could do it in full without ever stepping foot in the building. Knowing it was extremely physical. I did learn a couple of useful things from the excercise therapist like how to do a proper squat but that is literally all got out of my forced 10 week stay. Meanwhile my doctors and other physio therapists told me directly it was not necessary to attend there as I was having trouble with child care and other programs more local to me could be very effective given the appropriate timeline (it was a 3 hour drive to home for me) as evident with my current standing issues they rushed me through to sastify the insurance company since few people could afford this treatment on there own. It has been almost a year since I attended and I still have issues to the point I can not resume my regular day to day activities and when seeking medical help, because they are “god” (quote from two family doctors) the clinics word is final and you can only get help Outside of Saskatchewan after they discharge you. To top it off the director of the rehab clinic was exceedingly rude to me on more than one occasion. I didn’t get the mental help I needed either even though they have a psychologist on staff I saw once a week and this also lead to a large degree of other issues shortly thereafter. They left me with no job, no money and no hope.
Fantastic experience: Good place
Fantastic experience: The Hostel section is a change from hotels. There is a cafeteria or you can bring your own groceries and cook in the kitchen. Large windows and a park like setting are cheerful. Laundry room. Easy access to medical appointments downtown or either hospital.
Fantastic experience: This is an incredible family-like environment for any person who requires therapy or treatment or other medical treatment, surgery or appointment and is from out of town.itisthe biggest secret and theservice is excellent. It caters to those who has limited mobility or handicapped. Try it
Negative experience: Very bad service at Wascana Rehab I had
Negative experience: Services may be great, but good luck finding a place to park. Visitor parking upgrading is sorely needed.
Fantastic experience: Some of the nicest anf helpful people you'll ever meet. Great service.
Fantastic experience: I agree with Kelly Tehdog. The planning, compassion, and enthusiasm by the staff involved with your rehab were awesome! It makes all the difference.
Negative experience: The staff are great but there's never parking available without a permit. I'm here every week and it doesn't matter the time of day. Zero parking.
Fantastic experience: I do not think any place could do a better job of rebuilding a human emotionally and physically then WRC! Amazing people with an amazing amount of patience.
