Expérience fantastique: I began seeking treatment at Pelvico for chronic pain related to pregnancy (pelvic, back, legs, etc.). I worked closely with Cat (physio) during my pregnancy and postpartum and Chantal (chiro) postpartum. I have also attended the postpartum group classes twice now and plan to continue (big plus- babies are welcome to attend!). I feel so much stronger and am in much less pain after my pregnancy. I am forever grateful to Pelvico for providing such a great opportunity/setting/space to focus on my fitness journey! I HIGHLY recommend them for anyone seeking help through their pre/postnatal experience.

Internal examinations have always been difficult/painful for me and cause a great deal of anxiety but Cat was very kind, gentle and considerate. In fact she was excellent! Cat made me feel very comfortable, she kept me informed every step of the way and shared her considerable knowledge in order to help me. After following through with the prescribed treatment and exercise program, which I still do daily, I have Cat to thank for feeling so much better today! Not only does she give exercises, but also educates you on Pelvic muscles, health and lifestyle changes which made my overall quality of life so much better. I'm currently seeing Amelie for a different issue and she gave me exercises and advice for normal day to day activities that have been very helpful. Expérience fantastique: My experience at Pelvico Health Centre and particularly with Cat Wood has been outstanding...from the initial my time of injury, all throughout my rehabilitation and recovery and now since being back to activity. She is the best! I met Cat the day I had a traumatic Pectolaris Major tendon tear. She was extremely sympathetic and she was very thorough and professional in diagnosing and referring me with an urgent letter to my family doctor to seek Orthopedic emergency care. My doctor took this serious (the letter helped :) ) I had surgery within a few weeks of my injury to reattach my tendon. I spoke with Cat throughout this period and she gave me great advise and we made a plan to see each other in a few months. Once I began my recovery period, Cat was very efficient in planning my visits and gave me thorough treatments and also gave me an excellent plan to follow to help my mobility rehabilitation and also regain some strength. I am now almost 8 months post surgery and I can't thank Cat enough. The difference with Cat is the fact that she has so much knowledge from her academic background as well as her practical knowledge from her years of her own training and sport. She really understands the whole body and how everything relates...and her communication skills are excellent to help the patient understand as well. I would highly recommend Cat Wood and her Pelvico Health team for any aspect of physiotherapy. Thank you CAT!

She was patient with me throughout her assessment, explained in detail the process, and took care to make sure my needs were met.. During the massage, she was mindful of how much pressure she placed on my body the entire time, was gentle yet thorough, and made very pleasant conversation periodically while providing suggestions on ways to improve my symptomsin the future! Expérience fantastique: My former pelvic physiotherapist wasn't practicing in that area anymore, so a quick Google search led here! Cat Wood has been my physiotherapist and I will recommend her until the cows come home. She was able to quickly assess my pelvic floor and give me a plan before having my baby. She also jumped in to help with a foot injury and various muscle crazy things because of pregnancy. I've been beyond pleased and can't wait to continue working with her postpartum and beyond.

Expérience fantastique: I had the pleasure of spending three sessions with Shannon, 2 group sessions and a round of semi-private sessions. This was pivotal in my recovery and sanity after having my first baby. Shannon brings so much positive energy to her classes and keeps classes small so she can get a chance to connect and help each person in class. She’s knowledgeable and very supportive when it comes to tailoring exercises to your needs. The ability to bring your baby to class not only gives you the opportunity to workout, it also provides social time with other new moms to discuss all those new mom questions floating around in your head. The group sessions have a great sense of community that a very much enjoyed. My babe grew up and it was time to move on but I very much miss these classes! I highly recommend Pelvico and Shannon for your pre and post pregnancy fitness and overall pelvic health support.

Expérience fantastique: During my second pregnancy, it was suggested to me that I try pelvic floor physiotherapy for delivery planning. I had a traumatic first delivery and was hopeful to prevent any issues this time. Cat was absolutely amazing to work with! She’s very knowledgeable, down to earth, and I felt at ease as soon as i arrived. She helped me to feel more empowered going into my delivery with her coaching… and I am grateful that I had a very positive experience with the birth of my second child! Our follow up appointment was very helpful too as Cat gave me lots of good advice for reducing back and shoulder pain when breastfeeding. I started coming about 12 weeks postpartum at which time I could barely do the stretches, fast forward 4 months and I feel stronger than I did before having my baby. With a combined effort through pelvic floor Physio, massage, and boot camps, it’s a new moms trifecta to getting back to her old (or new and improved) self! Cat is an amazing physiotherapist who goes above and beyond to help you heal. I had a lot of pain at the end of my pregnancy and didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Cat until afterward, but she worked hard to figure out my issues and find ways for me to stretch and release those target areas - I went from not being able to walk for more than 15mins straight to being back to my old self under her care! Knowing what I know now I’ll be seeing her throughout a future pregnancy, not just postpartum. I also joined Pelvicos mama & baby boot camps - I loved everything about these classes! The tiered workout regimes, the variety, the community of moms and baby’s, and best of all - Shannon, who’d hold my baby so I could get an extra set in. Pelvico was the structure my week (and my body) needed as a new mom, good for the body, head, and heart!

Cat takes the time to listen, take objective measurements, explains treatments, and walks you through exercises tailored to your needs. She even reached out to ask about my progress. I saw her for several months to address a problem I was having with my knee due to heavy use in curling and crossfit, and her treatment has been terrific. She addressed all the related issues, not only the joint pain, and the result is I'm much stronger and more stable. And, even better, she could coordinate with my personal trainer for a really holistic approach. She's great to work with and I wholeheartedly recommend her.

After finding out I had a back condition I stopped doing a lot of the movements in the gym I really enjoyed, assuming I wouldn't be able to do them again. Expérience fantastique: Had an excellent experience with Cat! I had injured my lower back deadlifting and after a few months had passed I was concerned it would be an injury I would be stuck with. Straight away after booking an assessment she implemented a stretching routine to get me moving – especially in the mornings – and as that progressed, she created a strength program that evolved with time to work on the supporting muscle groups around the injury. This was paired with dry needling and manual therapy. I’m now pain free and feel like I’m on a much more well-rounded track with my fitness, armed with the information and techniques that Cat so clearly explains. We had a phone consultation that set the path for her working with me once a week while here visiting family. This highly skilled and thoughtful physiotherapist provided great relief and corrected my vertigo in 2 sessions actually finding it in an unusual ear location. She carefully assessed my concerns and walked me through the treatment. Cat held my 2nd appointment on Dec 24 so that I could enjoy the holiday (even in a pandemic) with my family. I highly recommend Cat for anyone suffering from the symptoms of vertigo.

I initially went to see her because I was getting into weightlifting and had a couple lingering injuries from my past that were holding me back. Cat was extremely knowledgeable… diagnosed the problem areas and helped me by adding some exercises that would address/strengthen those areas. Those areas healed and I’ve been able to progress at a regular pace . Cat also helped ensure that I was using the proper form while lifting heavy to help ensure that I don’t get any new injuries. Expérience fantastique: I had wonderful experience with Cat. I booked an appointment with Cat shortly after injuring my back. Cat performed a thorough assessment and was able to assist with the healing process with dry needling, needling with electrical stimulation, and physiotherapy exercises. After healing was progressing well, Cat was able to determine the underlying cause as to why I injured my back in the first place. Understanding the cause of the injury as opposed to just treating the symptoms is instrumental in preventing recurring injuries. I consider myself lucky I found an exceptional physiotherapist. I highly recommend Cat. As an added bonus, Cat operates out of Onside Performance Center (CrossFit gym). This is beneficial since she has access to a variety of gym equipment for demonstrations and assessments.

Expérience fantastique: I had a great experience seeing Cat for some hip mobility issues. Her initial assessment was very thorough but quickly honed in on what seemed to be the cause. She really gets a whole snapshot of what activities you are involved in and her solutions are tailored to your lifestyle. I especially enjoyed that she integrated my assigned exercises into my existing fitness routine so my "homework" just melded in with little to no disruption. Her booking system is easy to use, the billing was hassle free, and the location is easy to find with ample parking. I definitely don't want to have more mobility issues but if I do I know that Cat will put me back on the right track.

Expérience fantastique: Having never gone to a physiotherapist before, and only vaguely understanding that it involved doing some exercises and sometimes being poked with needles, Cat showed me what I was missing out on in terms of keeping my body moving strongly and safely. I first went to see Cat to address a couple of running issues (shin splints and ankle weakness and discomfort), and her methodical approach to diagnosing and managing my issues had my shins and ankles feeling stronger and more stable than they ever had. Unfortunately, just as I was returning to running, I managed to throw a wrench in my plans by falling on my ankle and spraining it, but Cat has continued to assess my progress and adapt my treatment the whole way along to ensure my recovery is going as smoothly as possible. As a result I've been able to continue nearly all my training in the gym throughout the recovery process so that I'll still be fit and ready to run when I've healed. Cat's ongoing methodical assessment and adjustment of my treatment has given me confidence that she is always looking to find the most effective solutions for me, and she's also gladly answered my endless questions about everything to do with my treatments and more. Since I started going to Cat for physiotherapy, I've had full confidence that if I run into any issues during my training, she will have solutions to resolve them and keep me moving forward.

Expérience fantastique: Cat was my physiotherapist when I was having pain, tightness, loss of strength and numbness in my knee after 8 knee surgeries. I have never had so much relief from my pain and increased mobility as I did after our sessions. She is extremely professional and is practicing the newest techniques to help her patients. Expérience fantastique: After I had hip replacement surgery I attended Physio attached to the Surgeons office. It was the follow up physio for 6 weeks, however I found it to be a very basic and canned approach to someone’s recovery. I decided to seek out my own physio and that’s when I met Catherine Wood. She did a great job of listening to my issues ( my whining), and my personal goals of riding a motorcycle again, riding a bike, skating, hiking and working out. I was 64 but felt I was an active 64 year old who had really been slowed down my having a hip replaced. Catherine is very knowledgeable and skilled and has a personality well suited for dealing with clients trying to improve and succeed. She knew what I was trying to accomplish and constantly adjusted my physio to meet my needs, weakness, strength as well as goals. When Covid hit I was worried that my time with Cat would be interrupted, however we were able to continue with our appointments even if it meant her putting on layers of protective equipment or what soon turned into physio zoom/FaceTime calls. She was able to keep me on track and today I feel I’ve truly succeeded in my recovery. I had fasted off 40lbs incorrectly, losing too much muscle mass which created pain and discomfort in my back and hip for my day job as a bus driver. Also I was experiencing rotator cuff pain, limiting my range of motion. Cat appropriately and professionally assessed, investigated, tested, and monitored these issues with me both in person and through email correspondence, specifically in response to the strength and recovery plan she custom tailored for my situation. Cat shared resources for me to educate myself when I expressed interest and clearly guided our working together, laying out my program in working toward completion of my rehabilitation. Within a few short months she had me back up and running and let me know to follow up if anything came up. I always felt she would be there for me if I had questions, issues etc. I found Cat’s communication style to be sincere, transparent, to the point. I found her expertise to exceed that of other physios I had worked with in the past(which I actually stopped going to because it felt like a total money grab and waste of time). I would categorize my time with Cat as high quality treatment and care and would hands down recommend Cat for simple or complex issues! Thanks to being pointed in the right direction I have now eclipsed the best shape of my life with a new personal best shape of my life. After leaving Cat with better understanding of my body and the importance of a good amount of lean muscle mass I hired a body building coach who guided my diet to allow me to pack on some size. I feel incredible and Cat was definitely an integral part of my journey!

I couldn’t pinpoint the cause of my injury but she was able to determine which exercises would help in my rehabilitation. She provided a baby steps exercise plan that was easy and manageable to follow. Throughout my rehab, she made herself available for questions and concerns. I appreciated that she built the plan in consideration of my (non-insured) budget. I can walk again without discomfort and am back to exercising. Her kind, calm and knowledgeable approach was what I needed.
